The electric fuel pump and one level sender sit in the right half; the left half has a level sender only, and fuel is moved across by a suction jet pump driven by fuel return pressure. In sustained right-hand corners, fuel piles up in the left half faster than the jet pump can transfer it back. The pump pickup goes uncovered, fuel pressure drops, and the engine leans out mid-corner — the same effect as lifting, with the added risk of detonation.
