BMW E36 M3 CV Joint Rebuild Kit – Löbro Chromoly Cage Joints

Clicking or clunking from the rear on take-off, a split boot flinging grease around the arches, or a joint that's let go on a lowered car at the track – E36 M3 driveshaft CV joints are well past their best on most cars now. Replacement outer joints are no longer available from BMW or anywhere else, and the cheap aftermarket shafts don't hold up to launches or sticky tyres.

This kit rebuilds both rear driveshafts using genuine Löbro CV joints with chromoly cages – the same joints used on Porsche models, so the quality is a clear step above standard replacement parts.

How the kit works

• Inner joint: the Löbro joint bolts straight onto the inner flange and is 10mm wider than standard. On lowered cars the extra width keeps the joint sitting in a better position through its travel, which means less angle and far less chance of breaking one.
• Outer joint: because the outer CV can't be bought, you transfer the chromoly cage and balls from a Löbro joint into your existing outer housing. That leaves you with a spare inner CV for each side.
• Correct PCD: the inner joints match the E36 M3's 6 x 94mm differential-side bolt pattern.

What's in the kit (enough for both rear driveshafts)

• 4 × Löbro CV joints with chromoly cages
• CV grease supplied with each joint
• 2 × inner CV boots with steel flange
• 2 × outer CV boots
• 2 × CV joint cover plates
• 4 × CV joint gaskets
• Complete set of boot clamps
• 2 × circlips
• Longer flange bolts to suit the wider inner joint (not pictured)

Grease

Each joint comes with CV grease, which is fine for road use. If the car sees track days or motorsport, we recommend packing the joints with Red Line CV-2 grease instead – it copes far better with the heat and load of sustained hard use.

Fitment

• Suits: BMW E36 M3 rear driveshafts – 6 x 94mm PCD differential-side joint
• Does not suit: non-M E36 driveshafts (318i, 323i, 325i, 328i) – these use a smaller 6 x 86mm PCD
