If your Lexus GS 350 2012–2020 feels doughy off the line and you find yourself burying the pedal just to get moving, that is throttle lag — the delay between your foot and the signal reaching the engine. The Ultimate9 evcX X173 removes it.
It plugs in at the accelerator pedal connector on the Lexus GS 350 2012–2020, and takes about 15 minutes to fit with no permanent modification to the vehicle.
Nine driving modes
- Ultimate9 — the highest throttle response setting.
- Ultimate — nine levels of increased response.
- Anti-Slip — reduced initial response for more traction.
- Launch — increased response on a more linear profile to reduce wheel spin.
- Economy — softer response for better fuel consumption.
- Adapt — adapts to your throttle input.
- Valet — reduced response with an RPM limit.
- Factory — standard settings, exactly as the car left the factory.
- Lock-out — disables the interface and locks the throttle.
Bluetooth and the driver interface
The evcX pairs to the Ultimate9 TC app on iOS and Android, so modes, sensitivity levels and saved favourites can be set from your phone instead of a small screen. The unit itself carries an OLED display that self-dims as the light changes, and dual USB-C ports with a range of mounting options.
The interface unplugs and comes out of the car, leaving the controller in whatever mode it was last set to. Combined with Lock-out mode, that is a real deterrent — an unfamiliar driver gets no throttle at all.
