Nissan Skyline RB20 RB25 RB26 R35 GTR Coil Bracket — Bracket Only or Full Kit

Tired RB coilpacks are the single most common reason a built RB won't hold timing under boost. Swapping to R35 GTR coils is the accepted fix — but the R35 coil is a different shape to the factory RB unit and won't locate on the standard rocker cover. This bracket solves that.

Machined from solid billet aluminium and anodised, it carries a set of six R35 GTR coils over an RB rocker cover.

Two ways to buy

• Bracket only — $230. For builders who already have R35 coils, or who are sourcing their own.
• Bracket + coils — $900. The complete conversion, with six OEM Astemo R35 GTR coils supplied.

OEM Astemo coils, not copies

The coils in the full kit are OEM Astemo units — the same manufacturer that builds them for Nissan. Astemo is the current name for what most builders still call the Hitachi R35 coil, following the 2021 merger that formed Hitachi Astemo.

This matters because copy R35 coils are widespread and cheap, and a coil that cannot hold its output is the exact problem you are trying to solve. If you are buying the bracket on its own, it is worth knowing what you are bolting to it.

An aftermarket ECU is required

R35 GTR coils carry an internal igniter and are triggered directly on a logic-level signal. The factory RB ignition system cannot drive them, so this conversion is only suitable for an engine already running standalone engine management, or one being converted at the same time. This applies to both options — the bracket on its own does not change it.

Why billet

Machined from solid rather than cast or folded, so the coil spacing holds its position under heat and vibration. The anodised finish protects the surface in a hot engine bay.
