SR20 Throttle linkage Instructions.
* Should be fitted by a qualified mechanic *
Although the linkage comes pre-set to the desired length we have found 1 engine is never the same as another so adjustment to the overall length may be needed.
Apply a small amount of grease to both ball joints.
One retaining clip is fitted to the linkage and this makes it easier to be fitted to the lower ball joint, slide the retainer down to lock into place.
Fit the linkage to the upper ball joint – Adjustment to the length may be required. Now Slide the remaining retainer clip onto the linkage.
Press the accelerator pedal and ensure full throttle can be reached, release the accelerator pedal and ensure the throttle body fully closes by itself.
If the throttle is not fully closed this is caused by poor alignment or incorrect length, with the lock nuts loose you can repeatedly press the accelerator pedal to align the ball joint attachments then re-tighten the lock nuts.
* DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR UNTIL YOU HAVE SMOOTH OPERATION OF THE THROTTLE BODY AND THE THROTTLE RETURNS TO FULLY CLOSED BY ITSELF *
